Ideally suited to be combined with a beach holiday in the Caribbean: discover the highlights of Guyana within a week – the heart of the jungle, the Amerindians, a safari through Giant otter territory and a trip to Kaieteur Falls, which are the highest in the world.
Details of journey

1st day: transfer from the International Airport to Demerara River; boat trip along winding rain forest rivers to Arrowpoint Lodge in the very heart of the jungle.

2nd day: In the morning, jungle expedition on foot and in canoe; activities during the day of your choice - all guided - afternoon: watch bread-making from poisonous cassava roots according to Amerindian tradition, in the evening: log fire on the beach.

3rd day: Arrowpoint; morning: boat trip along the river or bicycle tour along shady rain forest trails to the Arawak village of Santa Mission; afternoon: canoe tour.

4th day: boat and land transfer to Georgetown – Residence Inn, spend night in Georgetown.
o Option to take a flight to the 230 meter high Kaieteur Falls with guided tour *) (if this is desired, we can register the tour. Reconfirmation and payment take place in Guyana, because the providing of the flight depends on the weather conditions and a minimum of 8 persons is required.
o If the trip to Kaieteur Falls is not provided, there are the following options:
1. Visit of the botanical garden by foot – more bird species than on the whole island of Trinidad can be found here;
2. City tour, to get to know the gorgeous historical old town (optional).

5th day: transfer to Ogle Airport + flight to Lethem, then transfer to  Karanambu Lodge, the giant otter territory, boat safari along Rupununi River with a chance to see giant otter and spot caimans.

6th day: as Karanambu basic package, 2nd day.

7th day: return transfer to Lethem, flight to Georgetown, transfer + spend the night at the Residence Inn with breakfast.

8th day: Transfer to airport, departure.

*) Flights to Kaieteur Falls can be booked locally, for they can only take place if weather permits. Price approx. US $220.80 to be paid on spot. A minimum of 8 passengers is required for the flight!
*) there is no guarantee that the flight can be done!! Therefore we recommend to book the flight directly in Guyana. Besides Roraima Airways there are other Airlines and operators that offer this flight as well.

!) Notice: The Value Added Tax of 16% was already implemented and is includes in the rates, except in Karanambu Lodge! The Lodge is not yet taxable at present. This could change over the year. In that case we would receive the information with the booking confirmation.
Surcharge would be as follows:
$ 46 / £ 39 and  $ 37 / £ 31 per person per day respectively (double occupancy)
$ 51 / £ 44 and $ 41 / £ 35 per person per day respectively (single occupancy.
$ 21 / £ 17 and $ 19 / £ 16 per person per day (children 5-12 years).

59 – 30 days 25% fees
29 – 15 days 50% fees
14 – 7 days 75% fees
6 – 0 days or no show 100% fees
Full payment for all confirmed bookings is due no less than 30 days prior to arrival.
